Rodent removal Houston is a necessary fact of life if you ever notice a rodent
infestation in your home or business. Rodents prefer to live close to humans as they are great
sources of food, water, and shelter. However, this relationship is only helpful for rodents
and not so much for humans. Removing rodents yourself is not recommended as they can be
difficult to fully remove and carry a significant amount of diseases. Below are a few of the
specific reasons you will need rodent removal Houston at the first sign of a rodent!
1. Gnaw on household items: Rats and mice are known to chew on household items such
as furniture, blankets, clothing, even books. You can lose precious items this way and it
can cause serious destruction to your home.
2. Contaminate your home: Rodents will pee and poop all across your home wherever and
whenever they feel like it, creating a serious contamination issue.
3. Scavengers for food: Rodents will eat any of your food that they find, again
contaminating it. As they carry significant diseases you will not want to eat any food
that they have potentially contaminated.
4. Eat pet food: Rodents do not discriminate to just human food and will get into your pets
food as well.
5. Electrical wiring: Rats and mice have been known to chew through important electrical
wires that they come in contact with. This can end up being costly to repair for the
homeowner.
6. Insulation: Rats and mice will also chew through insulation which again is another costly
repair.
7. Make nests: You will find that rats and mice have no issue getting comfortable in your
home. They will create their own little nests and stay for the long haul.
If you have any unwelcome house guests, it is best to hire rodent remove Houston services
at the first sign of a rodent infestation.

Skunk removal services are extremely necessary if you have noticed an
influx of skunks around your home or business. Skunks can travel in groups and can
carry harmful diseases. However, skunks are not always bad. Skunks provide many
helpful benefits and have been around since at least the early Native Americans.
Native Americans were actually known to have kept skunks as pets! While we don’t
recommend this today it did take place many years ago. Skunks are nocturnal
mammals, which means that they are most active just before sunset and sleep just
prior to sunrise. These active hours means that they are likely out of your way
during most human’s active hours.
Farmers are known to appreciate skunks and their ability to keep rodents
and other pests at bay. Skunks are known to eat: frogs, lizards, bird eggs, spiders,
snakes, and mice. If you keep a safe distance, skunks can actually provide your
garden many useful benefits. Nevertheless, skunks do carry many harmful diseases
and often times skunk removal services are needed. Wild skunks only spray when
they are injured or threatened. They will even likely give you a warning prior to
spraying. Their spray can cause nausea, pain and even temporary blindness. You
will want to make sure you keep a safe distance from skunks for both you and your
pets. It is not uncommon for dogs to ignore the warnings from skunks and therefore
become sprayed.
Skunks have few natural predators, simply the owl. This allows an
abundance of skunks to accumulate in various areas making skunk removal services
all the more necessary. If you find yourself needing professional skunk removal
please feel free to reach out to our dedicate team. We are here to help support you
and your family safely.

The start of May signifies that summer is fast approaching. While for us that means putting on sunscreen and enjoying the pool, for wild animals it means that they start to exhibit different behaviors. Here are a few things to watch for during summer in Texas.

Babies- Although spring is considered when the majority of newborn births happen, they really do continue into the summer. Rainfall aligns with the heat and creates the ideal environment for babies to thrive. If you see a baby wandering around on your property, be aware that there is a good chance that mom is somewhere close by.

Sunshine- Wild animals run on the sun and unless they are nocturnal, they will be moving around a lot more than they would in the wintertime. The days are longer and the heat can also mean that they need to increase the amount of food that they need so don’t be surprised to see critters moving until it gets dark.

High Temperatures- It gets hot in Texas, and the heat also affects the animals. When temperatures increase, they start to seek shelter in anyplace that will provide them a cool place to rest. Unfortunately, they often find that your home is a good place to build a nest. If you need raccoon removal in San Antonio, give us a call.

Of course, there are also things that you can do to minimize the critters that come on your property. Be aware of the plant life that is growing and make sure to trim it back as much as possible. This will help to prevent animals from making a home that you cannot see. Trash needs to be thrown away properly and the lid should always be closed.

If you do find that you have an unwanted guest, be sure to give us a call. We get rid of armadillos and also do bat removal in Houston. We are a family run business and always treat these wild animals with the utmost respect and move them to a safe location in a humane way.
