Skunks rarely need an introduction. In fact, if you have been near a skunk, you will likely
know it. We highly recommend skunk removal services if you have an encounter with a pesky

fend off any minor threats before spraying with a dance. This dance is often classified as
the handstand dance and looks exactly as it sounds.
3. Aim for eyes: Skunk spray will cause temporary blindness allowing the skunk time to get
away. Therefore, skunks always aim for the eyes when possible.
4. Adjust their spray: Skunks have full control over their spraying capabilities. Skunks can
tone down or turn up how much spray comes out from a light mist to a full stream
depending on the level of danger present.
5. Tomato juice won’t cut it: An old wives tale on removing skunk spray smell from a
human or a dog perhaps was to soak in tomato juice. Unfortunately, this is just a myth
and tomato juice does not have the capability to cut down the strong smell of skunk
spray.

mammals, which means that they are most active just before sunset and sleep just
prior to sunrise. These active hours means that they are likely out of your way
during most human’s active hours.
Farmers are known to appreciate skunks and their ability to keep rodents
and other pests at bay. Skunks are known to eat: frogs, lizards, bird eggs, spiders,
snakes, and mice. If you keep a safe distance, skunks can actually provide your
garden many useful benefits. Nevertheless, skunks do carry many harmful diseases
and often times skunk removal services are needed. Wild skunks only spray when
they are injured or threatened. They will even likely give you a warning prior to
spraying. Their spray can cause nausea, pain and even temporary blindness. You
will want to make sure you keep a safe distance from skunks for both you and your
pets. It is not uncommon for dogs to ignore the warnings from skunks and therefore
become sprayed.
Skunks have few natural predators, simply the owl. This allows an
abundance of skunks to accumulate in various areas making skunk removal services

With their black masks and striped tails, raccoons are very recognizable animals. As cute as they may be, they are not animals that you should approach under any circumstance. Of course, there are times when the raccoon may come to you, in the form of setting up their den in your home. These little guys can cause thousands of dollars worth of damage to your home in addition to bringing disease and pests. To prevent these unwelcome guests, here are 5 things you can do to secure your home from raccoons.

Secure your Trash Cans- Raccoons will scavenge anywhere to get a meal and are known to break into trash cans and root around. Not only does this leave a mess, it can also lead to them having found a consistent food source. Make sure to use heavy lids or to tie down the lids if they are lighter.
Fruit Trees- Any tree that bears fruit or another food needs to be maintained, especially the pieces that fall to the ground. Making sure that your yard is clean will not only make it look nicer but also deter unwanted animals from entering your space.
Pet Food- Many of us have the habit of leaving out food and water for our pets during the day. At night, when raccoons are active, make sure to bring in these dishes.
Seal Off Entrance Points- Porches, decks, chimneys and more all need to be securely closed off to prevent raccoons from nesting. Female raccoons have been known to tear off roof shingles to get inside attics and will do extensive damage that you may not notice until it is too late.
Trim the Trees- If a raccoon thinks they can jump to your roof, they will certainly give it a try. Any overhanging branches, long branches etc can serve a springboard for a raccoon. Not only have they been known to be able to jump 3-4 feet horizontally, they have no fear of heights, and will jump from as high as 40 ft to land on your property.
