Alligator Sightings

March 8, 2022 by Andre Coetzee Leave a Comment

If you live anywhere from North Carolina to the Rio Grande in Texas, you likely have
needed alligator removal near me at one point or another. Alligators are commonly found in
these areas, but you should never attempt to relocate them yourself. Alligators are not
generally aggressive but if they feel threatened will certainly become aggressive. You would
never want to attempt an alligator removal near me yourself or the ending could be
catastrophic, particularly if young children are involved.
Alligators are found in freshwater or slow-moving rivers, swamps, marshes, or even
lakes. They do not tolerate salt water well as they do not have the proper way to filter it out of
their bodies. Alligators are carnivorous with extremely strong jaws. Their jaws are strong
enough to crack a turtle shell! However, alligators typically eat fish, snails, birds, or frogs.
Alligators are able to swallow these small animals whole, but if they are not able to will chew
them to more manageable sizes. If you are unexpectedly approached by an alligator, noise will
usually scare them off. They were also not meant for chasing their pray so running a long, fast
distance should outrun them. However, if you are able to from a safe distance it is always best
to call in a professional.
In places where alligators are common, they have been spotted in swimming pools,
garages, and even peeking into windows! If you find yourself noticing an alligator on your
property or near your home, we encourage you to call for help. This is not a task you want to
try and take on yourself for the safety of yourself, your family, and your pets.alligator
