Best to Avoid Armadillos

August 29, 2021 by Andre Coetzee Leave a Comment

Avoid armadillos!

If you have recently come in contact with any armadillos it is best if you call for help to get rid of armadillos. This is the best practice because while they are not necessarily aggressive in nature they can become aggressive if they feel they are in danger. Armadillos will stay motionless when they sense a creature walking nearby. However, if they feel they are in danger they will begin to claw and bite. Through this clawing and biting the armadillos can transfer leprosy, rabies, or other harmful diseases to you.Avoid Armadillos

Armadillos are also an endangered species. You want to call professional help to get rid of armadillos so that we can help protect them in nature. While you want to stay away from them yourself we want to help preserve them in their natural habitat. This is why it is easiest to call for professional help such as our Wilderness Animal Control services. Armadillos are also very helpful in that they eat a variety on undesirable insects. So while they are not necessary cute and cuddly they do serve a helpful purpose.

Many people are a fan of eating armadillo meat, but the truth is you are better off selecting something else on the menu. The same dangers exist in armadillo meat as they do from the bite of an armadillo. By consuming armadillo meat you still run the risk of leprosy, rabies, or who knows what else! It is always best to avoid armadillo meat and try something else. If our team of trained professionals can help aid you in the removal of an armadillo we would be happy to help in the proper, humane fashion. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have.
